Yu Yu Yang aka Yang Ying Feng was born in Yilan, Taiwan in 1926; deceased in Hsinchu, Taiwan in 1997. For more than sixty years, Yuyu Yang dedicated himself to a wide range of arts, leaving more than three thousand works, which cover print, sketch, landscape painting, oil painting, photography, comics, laser, graphic designs, award statue design, sculpture, landscape planning, etc.. As an advocate of avant-garde art and a pioneer of public art, he had a profound influence on the subsequent artistic development in Taiwan. Yang’s artworks fuse realism and lyricism and connote the supreme laws of universe and nature, with none of them failing to convey the his rich comprehension and feeling of the vicissitudes of time and space through experiences of countless peculiar people, events and things; at the same time, they all demonstrate the transition of his style in response to the changes of times.
